How do refunds work?↓
When you raise a dispute, Bob-O-Job holds your payment in escrow while we review the evidence. If your dispute is upheld, you'll receive a full or partial refund within 3–5 business days back to your original payment method. No-show refunds are typically processed automatically within 24 hours. You can track your refund status under Payment History in your account.
What if my Jobber cancels last minute?↓
If your Jobber cancels after accepting your booking, you'll receive a full refund automatically — no action needed. Your payment is released back to your card within 3–5 business days. If the cancellation happens within 2 hours of your scheduled start time, you'll also receive a £5 credit added to your account automatically. You can rebook with a different Jobber straight away.
When will I get paid? (Jobbers)↓
Once a customer confirms the job is complete (or after the automatic 30-minute confirmation window passes), your earnings are released from escrow. Payment reaches your connected bank account within 1–3 business days. You can view your payout status in Settings → Payouts. If your payout is delayed beyond 5 business days, please contact support.
How do I leave a review?↓
After your job is confirmed complete, you'll see a prompt in the app to rate your experience. You can also go to My Jobs, find the completed job, and tap 'Leave a review'. Reviews must be submitted within 14 days of job completion and appear on your Jobber's public profile.
How does the reliability score work?↓
A Jobber's reliability score (shown on their profile as a number from 0 to 1) reflects how consistently they complete booked jobs. The score decreases when a Jobber cancels a job they've accepted — and the closer to the booked start time they cancel, the bigger the drop, because that's when you're most likely to be left waiting. Cancelling well ahead of time has little or no impact; a last-minute cancellation or no-show has the most. Jobbers who fall below a threshold are flagged for review by our team. The score can recover over time with consistent, on-time job completions.
My Jobber was late or didn't arrive — what do I do?↓
If your Jobber is running late, you can contact them via in-app messaging. If they don't arrive and aren't responding, raise a dispute from the job page — tap the menu (⋮) and select 'Raise a dispute'. Confirmed no-shows are refunded automatically within 24 hours. We'll also review the Jobber's account to prevent this from happening again.
What is the cancellation policy?↓
You can cancel a booking for free up to 2 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations within 2 hours of the start may incur a charge if the Jobber was already en route. If a Jobber cancels at any point, you receive a full refund automatically. Emergency cancellations can be appealed via our support team.
How do referral credits work?↓
You earn £10 credit when someone you refer signs up and completes their first booking. Credits are applied automatically at checkout to reduce your booking cost. Credits expire after 90 days if unused and cannot be transferred or withdrawn as cash. Your balance is shown on your home screen, and you can find your referral link in Account → Refer a Friend.
How do I update my account details?↓
Go to Account → Settings to update your name, phone number, and profile photo. To change your email address, contact support — we'll verify your identity first for security. Jobbers can update their bank account details for payouts in Settings → Payouts.
How do I contact support?↓
You can reach us via the Help section in the app (tap your profile → Help → Contact Us). We aim to respond within 4 business hours, 7 days a week between 8am and 10pm GMT. For urgent safety issues during an active job, use the SOS button available on the job screen.
