Reviews Policy

This policy explains how reviews work on bob-o-job, how we keep them genuine, and what we do about fake or incentivised reviews. It supports our duties under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC) and consumer-protection law.

1. Every review comes from a real, completed booking

Reviews on bob-o-job are verified by the transaction. A review can only be left by a Customer or Jobber who was a party to a specific job, and only after that job is marked completed on the Platform. There is no way to post a review without a completed booking between the two parties.

That is why each review is labelled "Verified — from a completed booking." The label means the reviewer genuinely used (or provided) the service they are reviewing.

2. We do not write, edit, or buy reviews

We do not write reviews ourselves or post them under Customer or Jobber accounts.
We do not offer payment, discounts, credit, or any other incentive in exchange for leaving a review, or for leaving a positive review.
We do not change the substance of a review. We may remove a review, or remove personal data or contact details within it, where it breaks our Acceptable Use Policy (for example, abuse, illegal content, or an attempt to share off-platform contact details).
We display reviews whether they are positive or negative. We do not suppress honest negative reviews.

3. What is not allowed

Under our Acceptable Use Policy, users must not:

post fake reviews, or reviews that do not reflect a genuine experience
post reviews on accounts they control, or arrange reviews between connected people, to inflate a rating
offer or accept payment, refunds, or other rewards in exchange for a review
pressure, threaten, or induce someone to leave, change, or remove a review

Breaking these rules can lead to the review being removed and the account being suspended or terminated.

4. Reporting a review

If you think a review is fake, incentivised, or otherwise breaks the rules, you can report it. Open the review, choose Report, and select either "Fake or not a genuine review" or "Paid for or incentivised review." Our safety team reviews every report and will remove reviews that breach this policy.

5. How we act on fake-review reports

When a review is reported we take reasonable and proportionate steps to check it, which may include reviewing the underlying booking, the accounts involved, and any related activity. Where we find a review is fake or incentivised, we remove it and take action on the accounts responsible. We keep a record of reports and the action taken.
