5 things to look for when booking a dog walker

1. Live GPS tracking

On BOB-O-JOB, every active job has live tracking built in. For dog walks, this means you can see exactly where your dog is at any moment. Avoid walkers who won't share their location — there's no legitimate reason to refuse.

2. Experience with your specific breed

A Labrador and a Husky need very different handling. Check the Jobber's profile for breeds they've worked with and ask directly in the in-app chat if needed. Larger or more energetic breeds need walkers with physical capability and training experience.

3. Group size

Ask upfront how many other dogs will be on the walk. One dog gets full attention; five dogs means less control. Unless your dog is well-socialised and you're comfortable with groups, book a solo or small-group walk.

4. Public liability insurance

All BOB-O-JOB Jobbers must carry public liability insurance. This protects you if your dog causes damage or injury during a walk. The "Verified ✓" badge on a Jobber's profile confirms we've checked their documentation.

5. Reviews from other dog owners

Read the most recent reviews and look specifically for mentions of dogs. A brilliant general handyman isn't necessarily a trustworthy dog walker — make sure the reviews are relevant to the service you're booking.

Quick safety checklist:

  • ✅ Live GPS via BOB-O-JOB app
  • ✅ Verified ✓ badge (insurance checked)
  • ✅ At least 5 reviews from dog-related jobs
  • ✅ Discussed your dog's breed, temperament, and needs via chat
  • ✅ Emergency contact exchanged before the walk
