What handymen actually take home
Every figure on this page is what you take home — your earnings after our fee, not the price the customer pays.
On BOB O JOB, an hour of handyman work typically takes home £17–£29.75. Assembling a flat-pack item takes home £25.50–£42.50, mounting a TV £42.50–£68, and a couple of hours of general fixes £42.50–£59.50. You see the exact amount on every job before you accept it.
The job mix is the lever
Handyman work pays by the job, so what you earn in a day depends on what you stack into it. Flat-pack and picture-hanging jobs are quick and plentiful; TV mounting and repairs pay more per visit and reward the right tools. Most Jobbers start broad, see what their area books most, and lean into the jobs where they're fastest.
Your tools, your call
You bring your own kit, and you only accept jobs you're equipped for — the job description tells you what you're walking into, and you can ask questions in the app before you accept. Where a job needs a specific qualification, upload the certificate and our team will review it.
Why it works around your life
There are no minimum hours and no set shifts. Go online when you're free, set a radius around where you live, and only see jobs nearby. The customer's card is authorised before you travel, so the money is reserved up front and there's no invoice to chase. Earnings are released when the customer confirms, or about 4 hours after you finish, then paid out on Stripe’s standard schedule.
Move up, earn more
Complete more jobs and you climb from Bronze to Silver to Gold — each tier adds a bigger bonus on top of every job you do. Strong reviews unlock better job alerts, too.
