Student jobs — your questions answered
Can I work around my university timetable?
Yes — that's the whole point. There are no minimum hours and no set shifts, so you pick up jobs between lectures, in the evenings or at weekends. Go online when you're free and offline when you're not.
Do I need experience to sign up?
For most jobs, no. Cleaning, gardening, moving help, dog walking and general tasks just need reliability and a good attitude. Where a job needs a specific certificate we'll review it. Every Jobber is ID-verified and interviewed by our team before going live.
How much can students earn?
Most jobs pay between £12.75 and £45 an hour. How much you make is up to you — work a few hours a week for beer-and-books money, or more in the holidays. You earn bigger bonuses as you complete more jobs and move up through Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Is it only for students at certain universities?
No — it's open to anyone with the right to work in the UK and a London address in a live area. We're popular with students at UCL, Imperial, KCL, UAL, Roehampton and others, but everyone's welcome.
When and how do I get paid?
The customer's card is authorised the moment they post the job, so the money is checked and reserved before you travel and there's no invoice to raise or chase. It isn't held in a separate escrow account and it isn't a guarantee: nothing actually leaves the customer's account until the job is confirmed complete, and in the rare case of a dispute or a card chargeback a payment can be reversed after it has reached you. Your earnings are released as soon as the customer confirms the job — or automatically about 4 hours after you mark it complete if they don't, unless they've raised an issue. That window gives them a fair chance to flag a problem before the money moves, which is what keeps disputes from landing after you've been paid. From there it's paid into your bank on Stripe's standard schedule — usually 1–2 business days once your account is established. Your first payout can take a little longer while Stripe finishes its checks.
